Organ and tissue donation have a significant impact on the lives of donors, recipients, and their families. This course looks at organ and tissue donation as a component of end of life care and your role as a funeral professional. The first module specifically looks at organ and tissue donation as a component of pre-planned funeral discussions and your role as an advocate. The second module delves into understanding and managing the impact of organ and tissue recovery.
Module 1: Organ and Tissue Donation as a Component of Pre-Planned Funeral Discussions
- To provide funeral professionals with the knowledge necessary to:
- Advocate the opportunity for organ and tissue donation with their clients;
- Advise on steps the client can take to obtain additional information and steps they can take to ensure their donation wishes are supported.
This course is approved for continuing education in the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan.
