Coping with Grief of Victims of Crime

Explore the variety of feelings from many types of situations, as well as exploring the impact of investigations and the criminal justice system on the loved ones of the victim. You will also learn some strategies for helping the family to communicate and to plan suitable memorialization. This course also includes a short quiz to assess your understanding of these concepts. 

By the end of this course you will be able to: 

• Understand the way in which grief should be managed for these kinds of victims. 
• Understand the factors affecting their feelings and how these feelings manifest themselves in loved ones. ​ 
• Describe the impact of the investigative process and how the various elements of the criminal justice system can affect the families.  
• Provide insight into the changes in family communications as well as some options for suitable memorialization.
