We live in a disconnected world where individuals, especially in demanding and emotionally charged professions, often feel misunderstood. This keynote explores why connection is difficult, why judgment is our default response, and how leaders can transform culture by leading with curiosity and understanding. Participants will learn practical ways to understand themselves first – then others – so they can strengthen relationships, improve communication, and cultivate workplaces people want to stay in.

This session addresses the communication and leadership challenges inherent in emotionally charged professions such as funeral service. Participants will examine how unconscious bias, judgment, and miscommunication undermine trust and team cohesion. Through a human-centered leadership framework, attendees will learn practical strategies to increase self-awareness, foster psychological safety, improve interpersonal communication, and cultivate cultures rooted in empathy and mutual respect.
